Getting old you get used to there always being a part of the body that hurts.
The plus side is we usually just get on with it regardless. Go at your own pace and enjoy it anyway. Oh! And take a few ibuprofen.

Spent the morning at the emergency room. I tore or pulled a muscle in my shoulder. My left arm is in a sling now, so it has slowed me down, but at least did not send me home. Set up camp at Salt Log Gap tonight and plan to be at The Priest tomorrow.

I met Asrtro this morning in the SNP and slackpacked him from Turk Gap to Black Rock Gap, great guy. Kind of a crappy hiking day- foggy, drizzly, cloudy- but a good day to slackpack. Astro you should be able to yogi a lot of rides and treats with that wing in a sling.
Which made me think of some new gear on the way home: the jimmyjam wingsling, just think of how easy it will be to yogi, just slip that puppy on before you get to road crossings and parking lots and yogi away! Available in silnylon $10 and for you gram weenies, cuben $15. Naw just kidding, but I'll bet it would work. lol.
Best of luck on your hike Astro!"Dazed and Confused"

i wanna slackpack! Haven't done that yet.
Crossed into New York today and was met with some of the most difficult climbing yet...many times having to put my poles away and use my hands.www.appalachiantrailclarity.com - Life on the A.T.

Finally made it to Bears Den Hostel after 10 days in the woods. Put the sling away Sunday afternoon and knocked out two 18 plus mile days. A whole lot easier and faster with 2 poles. Shoulder still hurts some, but not anything that Vitamin I can not handle.
Not a fan of the roller coaster. .
Special thanks again to JimmyJam for introducing me to Propel and slackpacking me when my pack was the heaviest it will ever be except probably the 100 Mile Wilderness .
As for SNP the only thing better than the views was the Waysides! Also met and had a great conversation with Blissful at Gravel Springs Hut.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Astro, as you're coming up, let me know if you have questions about places to stay along the way! When you get past Kent near Cornwall Bridge, consider staying at the Bearded Woods Bunk n Dine. $50 per night gets you a comfy bunk with sheets, shower, homecooked breakfast and dinner, and a beautiful handcrafted wooden cabin and lounge room. It's a fun environment with cool people, and Big Lou is a master chef who whips up the most deliciously filling meals!www.appalachiantrailclarity.com - Life on the A.T.
