auto correct got me there, that should have been Pawling, not Parking.Astro wrote:

I want to hike with you!
Anyone hiking in the GA/TN/NC area soon? My turn to offer some trail magic.www.appalachiantrailclarity.com - Life on the A.T.

If I'm exhausted after 1.5 miles with about 20 pounds in a backpack, my stamina is too low to do that.
I'll continue to walk, and hike out at Cheaha SP, and work on my stamina, etc. My sister suggested that I hike around Cheaha, and try the BMT next year.
I intend, depending on how crowded things are, to hike the Friday and Saturday of the Cheaha Mountain Bike Challenge in May.--

Losing weight should help greatly. I am back down to 208, 17 pounds lighter than Feb. 3 this year. If I watch what I eat, hike, and bicycle, I should break 200 this year.I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does

I know I weighed 170-180 when I hiked years ago, but my doctor has told me I was too skinny. 215 would be right for me. So I think I would lose that 15 pounds just hiking. I thought about going out to Cheaha, but driving on rain slick mountain roads is not something I care to do. I'll keep walking in the backyard for the time being.--

1 month from today I catch the train from Little Rock -> Chicago -> NYC.
Plan to catch train out of NYC to Pawling/Wingdale, NY on 6/30 so I can really start hiking on 7/1.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.
