Due to the female plumbing, it's not as easy for us to eliminate liquid waste in the woods as it is for men. One solution is to use a FUD or Female Urinary Device. There are a number of brands.
After some research I decided to go with Go Girl. I bought 3 Go Girls before my thruhike attempt. They were having a sale on 3 packs so I gave one to my daughter and I have a spare. They come in a small tube that I keep in my fanny pack, so Coach, no need to worry about it going into the backpack. I rinse it before I put it back in the tube. Here's a link: Go Girl website
My sister uses a Freshette. She let me use it once when we were tailgating and I had to use a portajohn which generally are pretty unsanitary. It worked ok but I prefer the Go Girl. Here's a link for the Freshette: Freshette website
I've read of some women making their own. One woman used a salad dressing bottle that she modified for this purpose.
In the café thread the pStyle was mentioned. I've never used it so perhaps someone who has might want to comment on it. Here's a link: pStyle website
