I never lug a DSLR on the trail. Sometimes I find myself wanting one, but then I remind myself how much they weigh.I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -

I'm glad I'm famous for something. (Patting self on back). How do I get in Wikipedia?

What's better about my pic is way in the middle of the back range is the AT. I can't remember the mountain but it is by the shelton gravesite. AND it is taken from the AT about 150 trail miles south.

And here's me on the ridge that picture was taken from. (Thus demonstrating that I'm crazy enough to hike in the Northeast at the time of year when hiking in the Northeast means snowshoes and similar accoutrements.)

Anyone recognize the view? (Clicking through the picture to Flickr will give the answer, of course.)
I'm glad that the weather cleared up occasionally. Here's a picture of 1azarus taken on the same day. Can you say 'whiteout?'

The views begin to look the same after a while, I started focusing more on people pictures because that's what I'd remember most about the trail.
And you can go quite a while taking pictures of the small things, which come in more variety than the great things.

And sometimes, it's just that the light is terrific. In addition to the 'golden hour', there's a special quality to the air right after a storm.

I know, right? Always ducking behind the clouds, or just plain hiding! The worst part is when they sneak up on ya...There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?
