I set my tent up in what I thought was a perfect spot. Soft mossy level duff. Yet it was only about 2 inches of soil on top of one large flat rock Half my stakes only went in about an inch and I had to hold them down with rocks. It worked

I have a pair of insulated Marmot pants that I primarily only use when I snow shoe. Other then that I wear shorts as long as I can and or Marmot Skrees or convertibles

I don't like hiking in base layer bottoms. I have a set of icebreakers top and bottoms I sleep in. I like shorts. But when it's cold like last weekend just pants will do. If I were to hike with bottom base layer I'd opt for synthetic as opposed to merino because they dry out faster

Hope you feel better. There is an impending snow storm coming our way this weekend. All the hype we will probably only get a dusting

I don't believe they make the Mica anymore. I have the Precip and I like it because I use it all year round, not just for rain but as a wind breaker and and outer shell for snowshoeing and skiing. What replaced the Mica in the Marmot line? Does anyone know?
