Quote from StalkingTortoise: “Quote from odd man out: “On TOS he asked if anyone has a Kackwa55 pack because he'd had some questions. I decided to reply that I did. No follow up as of yet. ” Yes - the thread where he explained his foolproof gear buying process. "I create a list of my 'must-haves' for a piece of gear. Then I spend weeks researching available options. Then I move some of my 'must-haves' into the 'wants' column. Then I settle for a piece of gear that has 70% of my 'must-haves' and …

PostI first met Warren in Damascus 2013. Lone Wolf introduced him to me. I've since gotten to know him better through ALDHA. And while he can sometimes be a bit of a dick, he happens to be a great story teller (as well as a contradancer). He's also been a great support coach for a few FKTs, Jennifer Pharr Davis, and Liz Derstine. His intimate knowledge of trail crossings and logistics helped both of them immensely in their attempts.

The sad part is he really isn't willing to listen to what's being suggested to him. For someone who is into investigations, you'd think he could do a better job of navigating to FarOUt's how to page. Instead, it's just one rant after another. I think most of us here would be willing to tell him whatever he needs to know, but he takes each suggestion as an attack.

Quote from rhjanes: “Quote from hikerboy: “IF you go to TOS, apparently he is also OUTRAGED that the AWOL Guide isn't tailored to him. Really, I am looking forward to his hike. ” If you string together some of his comments, he also admits to being tech challenged. Then goes off about FarOut and how there are no manuals, no instructions, the "How To" video's all drift off. I pointed out on TOS, even included a link, that the FarOut website has THEIR tutorials. Watch, pause, back up the video, try…

Quote from odd man out: “If anyone knows of someone who would like to buy a Kackwa-55 backpack size Medium, used, like new, send them my way. All the pack details are here. $200, CONUS shipping included. durstongear.com/products/kakwa-55 ” so NOW you tell me? I bought one this past spring after seeing it at the MidAtlantic Ruck. Quote from StalkingTortoise: “Has Matt_C offered his authoritative 'facts' on TOS? Might have to head over there to see. Also need to look for the referenced videos to see the "ton of other real hikers blood boil." Think about the effort he is putting into this crusade. Or windmill tilting. - Registers and posts in the Introduce Yourself thread as a prospective 2025 AT thru-hiker. - Posts his Manifesto and edits it eight times. Eight times! Theodore Kaczynski only edited his manifesto three time…
