Beer
Dmax - - Coffee Talk
PostFor the trail it's bud platinum. When hanging out playing poker it's coors light. Out on the town who knows what I will try. But on the trail it's Bulleit or Woodsford rebottled into a ul flask that I prefer.

PostThis weekend I'll be trying the airline pillows. One for my head and one for between my knees. I hope that helps for my back. I use a regular pillow for my knees at home.

I didn't read the whole review. I stopped when I realized it wasn't a review on the new LHG Duo. The review stated it didn't have vents. Mine have new improved vents on top. Even the old style has vents that I have seen myself. I wonder how old this review is??? ... If it is a new review I would expect the reviewer to use the newest products on the market...

Nice work! We just sold our 2p quilt ( alpine version). Hated to see it go. I really liked how it zipped in half. Then both hikers have emergency coverage if separated at night.

The boys loved it. We're taking our three nieces next weekend. Age 4, 8, and 16.

I started researching this year the NM section. Plus I've seen most of the videos. I'd like to do the CDT in three sections. The first one being NM. .. My sister also lives close to the trail in NM which could sure work out in my advantage. COLD sodas on a long dusty road walk would sure hit the spot!

What Pack do U-Haul
PostI also didn't get the hydration port. .. With a good bend I get get good airflow. I think Joe recommends 2 - 2 1/2 inches when tightened down. On a trip during the spring and cooler weather I didn't put any arc into it and the pack still road great. .. I think two lumbar pads would help with a little more air flow. And for me I would be a little more secure with more padding down there. Not that it's needed, because its not. Just a mental thing for me I think. I have screws and rods down there..…

What Pack do U-Haul
PostNo hates for this pack yet. I love the huge side pockets. I like the mesh pocket it has on the pack. I'm not sure I would go with the zipper front they now offer. I like being able to put my wet tarp, ground cloth, sit pad, etc on the outside of my pack. I ordered load lifters. They are not needed. Joe even tried to talk me out of getting them. But I didn't listen. So I cut them off myself. I added the pole holders for each side. its my first time using them on a pack. i find them handy for keep…

Quote from AnotherKevin: “Quote from SarcasmTheElf: “ I just honestly think that on the east coast it's safer to keep your food attended than to store it with the average bear bag hang. But bear boxes are still my favorite.” Depends on the spot. Certainly, way off where we were a month ago, the bears aren't habituated and are really wary. (Off in the Catskill backcountry, I don't think I've ever seen more of a bear than a rapidly disappearing arse.) Down near Hunter or Woodstock, I'd be a lot mo…

Quote from LIhikers: “Quote from Dmax: “45* last night up on Unaka Mtn. My wife and I took 4 of our nephews for an overnighter last night, up there. Great weather for hiking back out this morning.” How old are the nephews?” Their ages range from 8 - 12. They have done day hikes with us a few times. This was their first overnighter.
