I am thinking about hiking the Colorado trail with my son in law starting around July 20th. Anyone with experience @PaulMags that has any advise on gear for this trail compared to hiking the AT would be helpful. I'm thinking it should take 4 weeks or possibly 5 depending on my partner.

I won't say money is NO object, but I don't mind spending a couple extra nickels to get quality. I have a set I bought, but frankly they're crap. They cut okay but are one is already falling apart. 2018 is going to be unique for me. I'm at a crossroads in my life and could go to the mountains later in the year to live or my path could take me anywhere depending on a certain someone I'm hanging out with. The statement I heard myself say was that we can go anywhere in the whole world. I'm ready for a second adventure but unsure what it will entail. I'm excited nevertheless.
