So I took a walk today. Played hooky from work due to the sunny skies and beautiful weather. Went up to the Catskills and hiked Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain. Panther is one of the Catskill 3500's and one of the four you have to hike twice (once in regular season and once in winter) this brings my total of Catskills to 5/35

The West Point public golf coarse was also profiled as the Thayer donated granite pictorial hole markers to the golf coarse that profile not only the hole but a paragraph or two on each US war, here or abroad, as a kinda mini history lesson...makes me wanna go play a round. Besides MLK weekend in Harriman in a few weeks, I intend on a few weekend trips in the Adirondacks and possibly finishing off the 46 High Peaks. Im at 21 now. Throw in a few trips to the Catskills. I also have too many home/family/work responsibilities that really prevent me from taking a full week off to hike, but Im going to try my hardest to try an finagle an extra week this year and possibly hike the Northville-Placid Trail, the 100 Mile Wilderness or maybe the Presidential Traverse

Quote from Blue Jay La Fey: “A thousand years ago I had an old (even then) VW Bug. Changed engines a few times with my Father laughing at me. He's gone and I'd give anything to hear that laugh again. He never found out that when the floor rusted out I built a frame and poured a concrete floor. It went much better in the snow. ” My first car was a 65 Mustang. Had a 289 in it. I immediately put headers and glass pack mufflers on it ... I beat the living hell out of that car!! Quote from rhjanes: “I had a buddy in college (mid to late 1970's). His dad collected.........Corvairs. BUT, only from like 1965 to 1969 as he agreed with Nader....those copied-from-VW Swing Axles....... Anyway, he kept spare motor and transmissions (3 speeds, 4 speed and auto). On a Saturday morning, he could change out an entire drive train. He had like NINE Corvairs. One was like a 1969, 4-door, convertible. I saw the letter from GM, pretty much said "name your price, we want the car back". M…
