Perhaps I give them to my son who has much better balance. ” FWIW, I did make my wife happy a few months ago and threw away my old pair with the smooth bottoms.

Planning to knock out the last 167 miles of the AT in July. Have Pinkham Notch to Grafton notch, and then Monson to Mt. Katahdin. So far my Tuesday hikes coming back from Fort Smith have been prevented by bad weather and meetings, but I do plan to get quite few miles done around AR by June to prepare for my AT final section(s).

The thing is these side excursions have usually led me to someplace beautiful. A few extra miles I have to backtrack, but often with no regrets. ” Yeah my PA mishap was back in 2015 before I had Guthook. Personally recommend it now.

Started seeing bike riders, and sure enough AT had branched off a ways back after a bridge. At least it was an easy walk back.

Quote from odd man out: “Dj was a local hero so voting for him. Question: Does the use of PED tarnish Clemens and Bonds equally since one was known for pitching and the other known for power hitting? ” Bonds I believe was worse since his body significantly altered, even his head size. And drastically elevated his statistics from prior performance. Clemens still bad due to roids rage in throwing bat at Piazza in World Series. His body didn't change much, but it did allow him to continue to put up…

I agree Derek Jeter was a good guy as a player, but he has been such a jerk as an owner that Andre Dawson and Tony Perez will probably skip (boycott) this year. Was graceful on the field and with the press as a player. But really butchered his firing of these two HOF players and others since taking over the Marlins.

My HOF ballot. Jeter Schilling Wagner Kent Walker Walker was the toughest to justify, but his last chance. Definitely a much better player than Edgar Martinez, as was Lance Berkman who unbelievably fell off the ballot last year when everyone was voting for Edgar on his last shot. I believe a case could be made for Scott Rolen and Omar Vizquel. But this time I will save my imaginary ballot for Jeter, the obvious three that should already be in (but writers holding grudges against them for their h…

Quote from Trillium: “The weather is SNOW!!! and lots of it! about 6+". My husband had surgery for a bone spur on his shoulder which caused a small tear in his rotator cuff and his arm is in a sling so it fell to me to deal with the snow. Well, the snow blower worked for a while but it's very wet snow and also cold so as it went through the snow blower, at times it would sort of freeze up a bit and the snow blower couldn't blow it through. Had to stop, clear out the semi-frozen snow and restart.…

Jack McDowell says Tony LaRussa was using electronic sign stealing back with the 80s White Sox. He also notes LaRussa was at the forefront of players on steroids (A's Bash Brothers Canseco and McGwire). I would think definitely too cold for Maine, unless you bring snow shoes or micro spikes. Of course perhaps layers of snow could make the rocks a little smother.
