Quote from rhjanes: “For 2 years, I tried leaving the leaves. I'd mulched them twice once they were on the ground. After 2 years, I had dead spots on the yard where the grass just couldn't take the volume of leaves. ” Wife had me try it also a few years ago, but it did not work out like she expected, so back to blowing and raking. Perhaps it is different in the southwest than the northeast with IMScotty.

We have 1.5 acres so I appreciate the help. Fortunately don't have to bag, just get it to the side of road for pickup. So my son blows into piles and I rake into extra large trash can and roll down to the road.

I bought my son a ticket to watch Justin Verlander pitch the last Astros home game thus year which also happened to be his 20th win, clubs 100th, and clinched the AL Western Division. Pretty awesome game with lots of Astro homeruns (George Springer l…

Quote from rhjanes: “It's Texas. A week ago we were in the middle of a freezing spell after a strong cold front. Today it is 72 degrees and sunny. Tomorrow 11/19, it will be 76 degrees. I had planned on raking leaves but that didn't happen..... ” Spent a couple of hours raking leaves with my youngest son today. Lot more enjoyable when you have someone working with you.

Albert Mountain to NOC is 37 miles. AWOL shows parking near Albert Mountain, but not sure how good it is. I know the road to Wayah Bald is long, winding, and slow and have parked there only during the day. Winding Stair US 64 and NOC US 19/74 should be good for parking.

You really do have to come down hard on this to prevent something like it happening again. On the hand I hope the "safety measures" don't ruin the beauty and experience for the other 99.9999% of …
