Thank you for that Max, that was a new one for me, very nice. I really liked seeing the 'real angels' in the video. Different genre, but the video reminded me of Billy Joel's 'Good Night Saigon' video where he invited the Vietnam Vets on stage with him. It really amplified the power of the lyrics. youtube.com/watch?v=Qjzjhl-QztE

Quote from EdDzierzak: “Well, since last year's easy trip got blown up by some "undetermined mosquito-borne virus" picked up in the Florida Keys, I ended up going to Edinburgh, Scotland with my son (his girlfriend is in med school and they screwed with her time off). We got a look at the Highlands and found out about the West Highland Way. It looks interesting - a distillery is a few hundred yards off the trail - and the whole trail is only 96 miles. The terrain is no worse then some I've done. …

If it doesn’t work out, I’ve decided to take my bicycle and do some bike shuttling, That will be interesting to say the least. ” I've done that. My preference is to get the bike ride out of the way first, and then hike towards the car.

Finally got to take my previously promised hike today in the 'Lynn Woods', an urban forest. Just a few miles, it was a great day to be out. My wife and I decided we would visit each of Boston's best Irish Pubs over the coming year. We visited the 'Tavern at the End of the World' last week, here is my review... appalachiantrailcafe.net/index…3fcf8c8415cca668377423654 Ambience: This is a cute little tavern, small in size, but it never felt crowded on this Saturday night. The patrons were super friendly and welcoming, the service was good. We overheard a mix of Irish accents and local natives. This is a neighborhood bar. I have to tell…

Max, Great report. I have a feeling those steps up the falls have terminated more than a few thru-hikes.

  • Same problem here, my daughter is on an AFROTC scholarship. The tuition part is tax free, but room and board is considered income so she (meaning me) owed taxes on that. Came as an unwelcome surprise, penalties and all. This year I made quarterly pre-payments, so at least there were not any penalties to be paid.
