after 12 days he still has a positive attitude. he's covered 26 miles (several zero's) thus far. he's had help a few times from trail angels bringing him water and taking some of his winter gear from him so as to lighten his pack. he's from florida; i don't know why he chose the PCT or decided to start hiking at the end of january. i think the AT would have been a better choice as towns are closer together and there is much more help available both on the trail and from the many hostels a cell c…

i don't normally watch youtube thru hiking videos unless there is something unique or different about the attempt (and there have been very few of those). anyway, i learned about the this guy from my georgia hiking facebook page. this individual is going to thru hike the PCT as his goal is to lose 200 pounds (he's close to 400 pounds at the beginning of the series). i've only watched the first video so far and about all i can say is he has a great attitude. i know that he only covered 7.3 miles …

  • on a 100 point scale, with scores below 70 considered failing, the restaurant where i get my morning biscuit just scored a 47 on their health inspection a couple weeks ago. even worse, improper storage of the sausage gravy was one of the items cited. i just read that they were retested last week and scored a 100. i should probably eat their tomorrow while they are still clean. i guess my normal breakfast of oatmeal and blueberries is healthier in more ways than one.

Quote from Trillium: “Quote from odd man out: “Also about 10 years ago we visited some of the Everglades, but I don't recall if we were actually inside the borders of the NP or not. But I'm counting it an you can't stop me. ” We attempted to visit Everglades National Park on 1/1/199? but were turned away at the entrance by the one Park Ranger who apparently was deemed necessary even though the government was shut down. Wasn't a total loss of a trip as we found "Robert Was Here" on the way and ha…

if you're a juror on a murder trial, you're not supposed to read news articles about the case. but if you do, you really shouldn't post about it on facebook. unless, of course, you want to get dismissed.

ok, i'm watching ga state vs louisiana at lafayette rajun cajuns game and the cajuns court is soo ugly -- it really needs to be refinished. so i google to find out why they let the court get in the condition it's in...and i found the answer. now i understand...but before i saw the video all i saw was the apparent imperfections in the courts finish and not the big picture. youtube.com/watch?v=yoDInV22h3c
