Learnin the ukulele, geez Louise. As if the fiddle isn’t enough. At least it is much easier. Made it through another Scots-Irish festival but the prep was stressful so just finished a 2 week hiatus. Took my violin to the shop, had the bow re-haired and got a new sound post.

Quote from odd man out: “regular hops are in the, same family as cannabis. ” I tried it at Knoxville Brewers Jam. Got into a conversation with some interesting characters who assured me it was “weed in a glass.”. But they were toasted so aren’t credible sources...or maybe they were? They confessed to some interesting things.

Recently, I tried New Belgium Hemperor. It’s brewed with hemp seeds and is supposed to taste like “cannabis terpenes”. I don’t know what terpenes are but it was very tasty. It sounds gimmicky, and maybe it is, but I will definitely drink it again. Anyone else tried it?

  • Thank you for the excellent report! I’m still using the original Sawyer and decided on my last hike to upgrade (downsize?) to the mini. Now I’m considering the Versa Flow.

  • Unfortunately, I wasnt able to get an appointment with Rob but the Cascadias did well on my recent hike...about 80% better. They allowed me to hike a 15.7 mile day with minimal discomfort. I was diligent with applying body glide and foot powder and ended up with only a small blister on my bunion.

My weight crept up a little this summer, 5-6 lbs. I was keeping track but didn’t get concerned until it was staying at the high end of acceptable. So, I’ve been watching my diet, sporadically keeping track of calories, decreased alcohol, and I’m down 3 lbs. It doesn’t sound like much, but it freaked me out, thinking all the hard work that I’ve done over the years was being undone!

I haven’t made jam in years. In a way, I don’t want to. My sister is an expert, strawberry jam maker and my mom makes delicious pear jam from her pear tree. It’s so special to eat their jam that making my own might ruin it.
