    When section hiking the AT, due it being 25% of the distance, it seems like you end doing multiple different trips in VA.

    7 weeks from today I am driving to the Hikers Welcome Hostel in Glencliff, NH. Just bought a long sleeve shirt from MyTrail. Never hiked in one during the summer, but with black flies and the potential cold I figured I would give it a shot. At only 4oz as light or lighter than the second short sleeve I usually bring. Also looking at bringing a pair of switchbacks (for long pants) in addition to my fleece top, gloves, and wool beanie. Also going with crew length (instead of ankle) Darn Tough wool…

    We had some nice days in the 70s this week. But it keeps dipping down to the low 30s. That just ain't right for the middle of April. But the worse part is the rain, hard to get out to walk on your own in the rain (unlike when you are out on the trail and don't have a choice).
