Quote from Astro: “Quote from LIhikers: “I want to wish a blessed and joyful Christmas to those to celebrate the holiday. Is anybody hoping or expecting any specific outdoor gear as gifts? ” We finally opened our gifts today. When I got back home last summer I decided in 2019 I would take the advice I had been getting and use the huts from Garfield to Joe Dodge Lodge. So to support that I "gifted" myself a Sea to Summit silk mummy liner and an Osprey rain cover for my Tallon 22. Plan is to park …

I actually like the Eagle Rare better. ” I hear a lot of people talking about how good Blantons is, I'm going to have indulge in a bottle. Medicinal use of course as I am still tired from being sick for six weeks- maybe low on B12 and anemic??- I'm supplementing it and now I have an excuse to eat a big steak and have eggs every morning.

Merry Christmas one and all! I got the best present- got my health back, today is the first day in about six weeks that I have felt well. I went thru an upper respiratory infection, bronchitis and a sinus infection. My doctor told me twice to go to the hospital if I didn't feel improvement in 48 hours. Thought for sure I was going to end up in the hospital or under the grass- I was that ill and I'm rarely ever sick. Anyway good to be able to walk around the block again.

Quote from odd man out: “Just finished my Makers Mark. Thought I would replace it with a Rye. Decided to go local and got a bottle of Grey Skies Straight Rye (made in Grand Rapids, MI). I've grown fond of Old Fashioned cocktails so I bought some Bitters to go with it (already had the sugar and orange). I've never had a cocktail at a bar that I liked. All the "specialty" cocktails on the menu are full of silly ingredients that do nothing for me. The only mixed drinks I really like are made with j…

Quote from odd man out: “when my sister who lives in NYC would come to family reunions she would bring one suitcase just for food. Most of that was bagels. I NYC, they are huge. ” not sure if we were in NJ or NY but Slingshot and I walked about a mile down a road to a gas station/grocery/deli/bakery that had baskets full of fresh bread and bagels, all unwrapped. The aroma was amazing as were the bagels.

  • Quote from odd man out: “The the last couple times we were in a Hardees, they were so awful (dirty, bad food) I swore I'd never go back. The only other place on my "Never Again" list is Big Boy. ” Yeah that's the problem with Hardee's, they are hit and miss. Usually the corporate ones, the ones owned by Bodie Noel in NC, are good.

For the sake of my health I have been trying to stay away from it.
