I hate getting in this discussion, but this still doesn't sit with me. An adult who just walked from Harpers Ferry, with other experiences....gets turned around, sets up camp and just sits there and waits to die. In 26 days she didn't walk around her perimeter during the day to check out the area?

Quote from LIhikers: “I noticed your crew has a 4 legged mascot, nice! And the pup didn't look stressed at all ” That would be Dillon, Erics dog. He is a good boy......loves to play 'fetch'. I joke that working each day feels like a 15 mile hike......well Dillon runs about 30 each day!

I have no pics of this past weekends work. I was the quarry guy. I hooked the lines to the rocks, and ran a belay, when we moved boulders. So my gadget was in my pack! On the south side of the AT/ Palisades Parkway crossing, after the trail heads north from Brien shelter it climbs Black Mountain, with a lovely view of Bear Mtn. to the ESE. The Tappen Zee to the SSE, and NYC to the south. As you climb down to nobo it goes down a steep gullied stretch. By fall, the first 100 ft down will get a fac…

Quote from LIhikers: “I want to give kudos to the NY/NJ Trail Conference because of the good job they do in recognizing volunteers. I used to do trail work for another organization and I never heard a thing from them. It was discouraging. The NY/NJTC does a good job through e-mail contact, both from the club and from my supervisor, and occasionally a tee shirt or patch shows up in the mail at our house. Thanks NYNJTC! ” I will second that! I work all over the lower Hudson. This organization is w…

He lives in Waterbury, totally out of my way to anywhere, and I've been doing so much trail work, it is tough to hook up.

Quote from Astro: “Quote from Trebor: “Baltimore Jack passed away early this morning ” Sorry to hear that. Glad I had the chance to meet him. Only regret he was not willing to take a picture at the time. Despite the rough exterior he had some charm. Was quick to say how more difficult section hiking the AT was compared to thru-hiking. Had a reputation for being extremely intelligent and it came across in our conversation. ” Totally agree
