Thanks for all the support! I just met up with GG at the Doyle. I'm staying at trail angel mary's. Sucks about the bum, but crap happens. I do seem to attract bad luck too. My number at Harper's Ferry was 13. Ironic? I don't mind the incident being reported here. I filed a report with the ATC and GG just said he saw a wal mart tent pitched in the woods near the river north of boiling springs in a random location but they didn't check it out. Coulda been the guy, he may be lurking in the area. Ma…

Quote from OzJacko: “Impressive. I cannot imagine hiking from Springer to Pearisburg in the weather he, GG and the other early starters have been experiencing. Then again temps in the middle of my winter rarely fall below 60 for maximums or out of the 40's for minimums so I have no opportunity to practice.” it has been brutal at times, I am night going to lie. At overmountain shelter I stayed on the platform in my Cabela's XPG Backpacker Zero Degree bag and it was 25 degress outside, cool, right…

hey everyone, how is it going? Good German has gotten ahead of me cause I slowed down to get my new hiking partners trail legs in shape before blasting on. I have been having a blast. I took a picture of a sign the other day and got accused of writing on it by somebody on my f-borg page, lol, I didn't write on it but he is adamant that I did. My new Hennessey hammock tent is the shizzle in the drizzle. it rocks! I just got new footwear from walmart, light weight hikers, the keens Hudson gave me …

Hey guys, the Dairy King does not serve milkshakes today so we had to go to the Country Inn or something like that. Max Patch, yes, I intend to do the PCT and CDT yo-yo style, but I never intended to do them back to back. I was intending to go to the PCT in 2016 so I could work on funds for the trail and 2018 for the CDT. I have been told that I can't do those two trails without funds since the towns that offer resupply are usually small and E.B.T. is a dream there. I am focusing on doing the A.…

Quote from GoodGerman: “It was a good day. After the awesome breakfast at the road I almost fell asleep on a log. The hike down into Damascus was just perfect. Great views, great weather and a happy dacota Joe slackpacking like a boss Thanks for the trail magic, lone wolf. You really hit the spot :)” yeah man, really hit the spot. Slackpacking like a boss! It was the first day I was not chasing the white rabbit! I got some new swiss gear trekking poles, keen boots, and a Hennessey hammock yester…

Quote from LoboSolo: “about what time will y'all leave double springs tomorrow mornin'? i could meet y'all at 421 with somethin' to eat and slackpack you guys if you wanted. i'll be at the road regardless around 0730” we usually start at 7 am every morning and we hike at about a 2 mph pace. i would love that and i think the guys would too. Quote from Trebor: “Sounds like you hooked up with a couple of good guys vial can learn from one another and push each other to get the extra mileage. Looking forward to hearing about y'all and Lone Wolf having a few beers together. Keep On Hikin On” I did and have learned a lot from both of them. We are leaving today at 7:30 a.m. to go back to us 321 @ mile 425.00 and heading to Double Springs Shelter at mile 448.4. Then the next day we are heading into Damascus.

Quote from hikerboy: “Quote from DakotaJoe: “Hey everyone! We are at the Black Bear Resort right now! What is going on with you guys?” wonderin how youre making out. hows the weather there?” it is warm then cold, wet then dry and then wet and snowy, i actually watched my shell freeze the other day. my tent sucks, lol, but my walmart boots are still holding up like tanks
