  • McAfee Knob Trail Shuttle

    jimmyjam - - AT Specific

    Post

It's really gotten crazy there in the last couple of years. The shuttle is a good idea. People were parking up and down the highway and the next side street even though both are posted No Parking. The other good option is to park at Four Pines Hostel and use their shuttle or walk the the few miles from the hostel.

I love the OBX. I can can get there in just a few hours. We especially love Ocracoke Island. As a kid I would go there with my dad and his best friend and his friend's brother and we would live on the beach in tents for a week or more following the fish up and down Hatteras. I've literally been going there my entire life as I was conceived on the island.

  • Knee injections

    Post

Just got my knee injection Friday. Knee is great today. I had my wife with me and when she saw the size of the needle she was "OMG"! I told her "yeah maybe you better turn your head and look away" lol ! They don't bother me a bit, I never really feel anything after he sprays my knee with that numbing spray.

Quote from WanderingStovie: “I am considering a very impure nobo thruhike of the AT. I might take the Pinhoti, BMT, and Duncan Ridge trails from Dalton to Blood Mountain, hike into Helen from Unicoi Gap, return from Helen near Tray Mountain, take the Kimsey Creek shortcut, skip the eastern dip to the south in the Whites heading directly to Gorham on a side trail, and so on. I would not get a hang tag, not get a photo at Harpers Ferry, and not report 2000 miles to ATC. ” Sounds like a damn good t…

There's a lot of rules to trout fishing. Last time I went I had to have a VA license, a trout stamp and another special national forest stamp. No barbed hooks and all that special bait rules. Here's my all time favorite lure for brem, crappy and bass. It's called a beetle spin. The white color ones work great. Just cast and real it in slowly.https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/johnson-original-beetle-spin?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=BPS%7CShopping%7CSmart%7CFishing%7CGe…

Quote from Traffic Jam: “I’m going to Lake Jocassee in SC soon and plan to fish. As usual, I need advice. I want a rod and reel so plan to buy the ugly stix GX2, it’s 6’ with a 30 reel, I plan on using an 8# line. I’ll be fishing from the bank and a kayak and will probably do catch and release. I’ve read multiple recommendations to use a Keitech 2.8” in blue/chartreuse with an Okishira screw head. (But I don’t want to use a barbed hook so that won’t work for me.) Does that sound like overkill fo…
