PostQuote from max.patch: “lol, I didn't know MLB was feeding at the FTX trough. And they went all in -- not just one patch, but two. Expect the umpires to look different next year. image.cnbcfm.com/api/v1/image/…553319.jpeg?w=1920&h=1080 ” Perhaps that explains some of the bad calls.

PostQuote from Astro: “Quote from IMScotty: “Astro, have you thought about a PCT thru-hike? I think you would enjoy it. ” No Fire and Ice for me. ” Do plan to do Colorado Trail in 2024. Also will eventually try to get a JMT permit. But the only thing I plan to commit for more than a month to is a thru of the AT. I really like the convenince of resupply (hostels and towns) and relatively less extreme weather.

Quote from odd man out: “Quote from Astro: “First for us too. ” I'm not sure that counts as "snow". ” That is what my wife from Northern Indiana said. But hey I am from South Florida, and I never saw anything like that for the first 20 years of my life.

Quote from IMScotty: “Or then again, maybe it isn't... First time ever that I have had the outer part of my trail shoe outlast the insole. My Lone Peak Altras (IV's I think) have several hundred miles on them, but still have some tread. They ain't pretty, but they still work. Problem is the insoles have become so worn they have holes in them and are sloshing around in my shoes at times.... appalachiantrailcafe.net/index…0c5c74d2fd7784c3070315be8 So, I thought I would buy my first ever insoles. PostQuote from odd man out: “I looked it up. The HF Train Station is 540 feet from the trail. I guess that doesn't count as getting a train "right from the trail" since AT hikers aren't interested in walking that far. ” And I actually rode in and out of that one. All I did at Pawling was take a shower as a train went by.

PostFear was Phillies who barely made playoffs (would not if not for this years new format), were going to prove once again it is more important to be hot than good (or at least the "best team"). But by sweeping both prior series the Astros could be considered a little hot also. If not an Astros fan I would have been pulling for a Cleveland v. Phillies WS due to the contrasting styles. Great defense, speed, and little power against the beer league softball team.

PostIf Dusty and Verlander had not blown it in Game 1, Astros would have closed out the World Series tonight. But I guess now they can do it in Houston in front of their fans.
