I recently started hiking the AT and wanted to share how I got to the AT from the ATL airport. The only "logistics" I had to figure out was getting from the ATL airport to the trailhead. I found this service called ThumbRides (which is pretty much bringing back the modern day hitchhiker is an awesome way). I got a ride with a couple heading to North Georgia from ATL for $7.
