  • It was great running into you on Haoe Peak!! Other than hiking with Amy Willow for 7 days, you were the first backpacker I saw in 14 days, weird considering it was peak April season although the week of rain may have kept people away.   • Thanks for the link. Their advice to "not be at the wrong place at the wrong time" is sort of impossible as I've often set up on a mountain top at 4pm in fine weather with clear skies and by 3am a hellstorm arrives. Only one time was it so bad that I unstaked the tent and dragged it and everything in it down the mountain to a lower site. Not fun at night in the rain and flash. The best technique I have found is to just tighten up my bunghole and wait to die. BTW---here's another technique: (Esp …
