  • I was duck hunting in Arkansas last week with my son and I told him if I died during the trip to take what he wanted off my body (I recommended the fleece lined pants and my Filson jacket for sure) and push me off in the river. That would be a good pirate burial and save everyone a lot of money. My wife survived a house fire as a child thanks to her Grandmother (who did not survive the fire) so there will be ZERO cremations around here.

I used to have a 2 cup aluminum percolator that I carried, but I lost the guts to it. Now I have a 3 cup titanium press in it's place. The aeropress works great, but it's use away from the comforts of a truck/camp/office are limited; it's light, but it only serves one purpose. At least my french press can be used to heat water for cooking and for making coffee at the same time.

Big ol' hairy congrats to the Astros! LOVE the way they play the game, especially in this sterile environment that is MLB nowadays. P.S. I stil count this as a NL win.

If you hire Dusty you get to the playoffs, that has been proven. What has also been proven is that you will not win in the playoffs if you hire Dusty. I think he's a great "player's manager", but he sucks at game management. He keeps his players loose and happy which equates to a good record over the long haul (162 game season), but he gets out managed in the playoffs when it's a do or die situation. Case in point....wth was Rendon doing on the 2 out double down the line? He sure as hell wasn't …

Houston was under achieving so the NL traded them to the AL for Milawukee. That game was painful to watch from a Boston perspective. Other than Jackie Bradley, Jr. I would hate to think I had to watch that kind of baseball day in and day out, it was awful. Dustin Pedroia runs into a tag at third base for the third out with a turtle on base ahead of him and almost cost the Red Sox their first run. Then runners on first and second with no outs and Pedroia swings at a 2-0 pitch that"s shoulder high…

I remember hanging out near Chief Nocahoma's tent during batting practice once and Bob Horner hit a ball so hard that we all scattered, lol. The damn thing hit the back of seat and bounced back onto the field. It was scary how hard he could hit a baseball. On an unrelated note: Astro, I thought about you this weekend. I was watching a couple of documentaries on Netflix and made a note to relay them to you. The first is "Fastball" and the second is "Battered Bastards of Baseball", check them out …
