Wow! 70 degrees, not a cloud, light breeze, and a weekend. Went for a walk at our favorite local park (maybe 1.5 miles). I will definitely need to step it up before summiting Katahdin in August.

We drove 4 hours to Northwest OH (a park right by a NCT trailhead, west of Lima). Traffic was bad around Fort Wayne. It was right where the I69 and several US highways meet at the edge of where totality so it was the bottleneck. We took some back roads to avoid a couple of backups caused by accidents. weather is looking a bit better in Indiana than Ohio, so I may go that way. It's the same distance so I can decide at the last minute. If I miss this one due to clouds, there will be a total eclipse in my backyard in 2099.

I just figured the half way point is in PA near pine Grove furnace, so the sign was just a little bit closer to GA than that.

A favorite trail snack are French's fried onions. The plastic tub they come in is perfect for packing Pop Tarts to keep them from getting crushed in the food bag. At least the fried onions are healthy because they are a vegetable. Right?
