Pack Cover
PostIt's custom. Took the cover to a sign company that I had emailed the art to. People driving Priuses give me dirty looks. I had it made a day after someone called the cops to report "a suspicious homeless man" one day. The cops were cool but it is now clear I am not homeless, I'm a hunter. Don't wanna be responsible for needlessly tying up the Sheriffs. Libtards in So. Mexifornia are just sooooo....(insert something good here).

Pack Cover
PostA wet pack is a heavier pack, I have em for all my packs. Besides, they can be fun. I wear this during my daily 3-5 hike up and down the hills where I live. b9527edc-8962-4de9-98cc-e1127367f2be_zps987c725f.jpg

Woobie Mod
BC9696 - - Sleep Systems
PostMy Kifaru Woobie ships from CO in 3 days. I like the mod this guy made on the ends (at the 2:55 minute mark) and am looking for a way to secure the sides to close it up like a sleeping bag. youtube.com/watch?v=vLH8GHKNLsE Some guys use mini-biners but that seems like a hassle. I was thinking a length of paracord threaded thru the loops would be an easy, lightweight alternative that would enable quick exit (just pull the cord out) but am open to any ideas. Also, many of the reviews biach about th…

Many animals do not have nervous systems similar to ours. Ever cut yourself and not notice it until you saw or felt the blood? Deer that have been shot clean thru with an arrow have been known to continue feeding and then drop dead. It happens. As for meat, I don't know, depends on how long we age it and how much trim i lose but I netter 511lbs off my 2009lb bull in 2009. youtube.com/watch?v=EzLGcHmOcNY

Quote from Drybones: “I just made two hammocks and a tarp and I'm happy with the universal hammock hanging ropes I've made using 7/64 Amsteel but the tarp hanging needs help. I have 1.75 Samson rope on it now which doubles back around the tree but I'm thinking of using the Amsteel and a similar adjustable connector to make it easily adjustable, what I now have takes too long. I have the cold weather hammock now hanging in the back yard which is where I'll spend the night to see how a sleeping pa…

I do both...curious how many folks here combine their time in the field with food collection and/or predator control.

I use a continuous ridgeline with just one of these Liberty adjusters 41Did8Avb4L._SY300_.jpg and attach my tarp to it and guylines using mini S biners 81Rhs13QlkL._SX425_.jpg It's even faster than tying knots and because I'm often setting up in the dark, the easier and faster it is to erect, the sooner I'm in the rack. I use the adjusters on the guylines to my stakes too. I also hang these so I have light inside my hammock and under my tarp 41Zi93bdWQL._SX425_.jpg I backpack with a hammock...sh…

Quote from Drybones: “Quote from namtrag: “WM stuff is a little too pricey for me...maybe if I hadn't already sunk my life savings into the stuff I am replacing, I could have done it! lol One of my clients says "Buy the best and buy it once," and I wish I had done that.” You wont hear me quote salesmen often, but I take truth where I find it. Years ago I was getting quotes for a very expensive piece of equipment and was leaning toward a German product because it was a little cheaper, a competito…

Alkaline water
PostI drank straight from a creek ONCE while elk hunting in the coastal Oregon rainforest and drank enough zoas to become Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Katadyn Hiker Pro, tabs and/or a filter straw are always with me now. As for the gizmo the OP saw, it changes the pH of your water and is part of an MLM.

Quote from namtrag: “Just wanted to post something here to get the section going. I currently have a Big Agnes Deer Park 30 degree down bag. It's a long and big guy bag, but I am a side sleeper who hates being constricted. I am only 5'8" but have big shoulders (44 jacket), so the bag is for the most part way too big for me, but I don't mind. I have used it down to 25 degrees without being cold, as I just wear a hat, and actually put on long johns when it's that cold. I also burrow down in the ba…

Due to six motorcycle spills in my youth plus a snake phobia (bit by diamondback when I was 12) sleeping on the ground is not for me. My back can't take it. I recently returned from the coldest hammock camping/hunting trip I ever took. Vegans should not watch the video, it may compel you to eat a salad and my food poops on your food. This is my rig set up at home: IMGP4344_zps123b58a9.jpg IMGP4339_zps851d857c.jpg Here it is in Utah just before Christmas: IMG_0281_zpsbfc956a0.jpg http://www.youtu…
