Well here's something I never saw before. I took the dog to the soccer fields for a walk and instead of the usual games I came across a RoundNet (also known as Spikeball) Tournament. They had 32 areas to play spread across 4 soccer fields. Watching it as I walked around the fields I noticed a similarity to volleyball. There were mens, women, and mixed teams participating. Well...if you've ever had the desire to pick up after aspiring thru hikers, and have $925,000 that you don't know what to do with, the Hostel Around the Bend was listed for sale about 3 weeks ago. This is located at mile 70 in Georgia and is an easy 1/2 mile walk from Dicks Creek Gap. You may recall that this is the old Top of Georgia Hostel property (much nicer and updated!) that was started by Bob "Sir Packs A Lot" Gabrielson. Strolling down the trail with a day pack containing a half dozen Little Debbie's and a liter of water as you make your way to a gap where a car/van awaits with all your other gear is not a thru hike. I do not recognize this "record". This individual has NEVER done what thousands of other thru hikers have done -- put on a backpack and hike from one terminus to the other.

Wasn't anything I was looking for, but that factoid appeared in something I was reading about a month ago. Woulda been a guess otherwise.
