Finally Angel Hernandez "retires". Coming from South Florida I have great respect for Cuban-Americans, but that does not justify you keeping a job that you are universally considered by all involved to be the worst at. MLB knew how bad he was but instead of overtly punishing him (umpires should be sent down to the minors just like players not performing), they just denied him opportunities like the World Series. So he played the race card with a lawsuit (which he lost). MLB needs to remember eve…

Saturday burned my scalp from scorching sun in bleachers at my nephew's graduation at Cornell in Ithaca, NY (guess I should have wore a hat). Fortunately they had free bottled water which I downed at least 3 half liter bottles. So drive 800 miles south today to NC and in 60s with a breeze.

I do not recognize this "record". This individual has NEVER done what thousands of other thru hikers have done -- put on a backpack and hike from one terminus to the other. ” I believe that describes 9 of his 18 hikes. So 9 and "Never" don't seem equal to me. My multiple perso…

That would work for me, but unfortunately not if taking my wife with me. I was thinking of catchIng an Astros day game and bringing along my tent is case I get tired on the way back. Wife mentions she might want to go. I say great we should be able to drive back no problem (and if needed I'll have 2 person tent). Sh…

We sat at an outdoor, sidewalk table and had a.good conversation about our upcoming AT hike. I'm getting excited about and am looking forward to the hike. Although to be honest I am nervous about it as we've never hiked near that far before. According to the A T Companion it'll be 1026 miles. ” Just like any other hike you…
